With CMEC as General Contractor, the EPC project includes design, delivery, transportation, civil engineering, installation, commissioning and handover of the boiler, steam turbine, main generator and auxiliary facilities of the power plant system, as well as personnel training. Specifically, the existing B1 unit is to be overhauled; each of the existing B1 and B2 unit is to be provided with a desulfurization system; one 350MW lignite-fired unit (B3 unit) is to be built; and the sixth ECS is to be added.
When successfully implemented, the project will greatly mitigate the situation of power shortage in Serbia and lay a good foundation for Chinese companies to enter the European power design, manufacturing and construction market.
