Recently, Xu Jian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist of SINOMACH, led a delegation to CMIE, a subsidiary of CMEC Group, to conduct special research on SINOMACH‘s engineering sector research projects. Chen Fan, Deputy General Manager of CMEC Group and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CMIE, presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, the leaders of relevant research projects at CMIE delivered special reports on the progress of 2025 research projects in the Group’s engineering sector, the phased achievements, follow‑up implementation plans, as well as the research objectives, core technical content, and expected application benefits of proposed research projects for 2026.

Academician Xu Jian listened to each report, fully affirming CMIE‘s scientific and technological innovation work, and provided guidance in light of national strategic needs and industry development trends. He pointed out that research projects must adhere to a problem-oriented and result-oriented approach, ensuring they “can be implemented and can deliver results.” Scientific research should be closely integrated with market demand, and technological breakthroughs should be effectively transformed into core competitiveness and market influence. He emphasized that CMIE should continue to deepen its efforts in core areas, strengthen long-term technological accumulation, gradually build a core technology system covering the entire industry chain, and effectively promote the efficient transformation of research results into practical productivity.

Chen Fan expressed sincere gratitude to SINOMACH and Academician Xu Jian for their long-standing care and support. He stated that CMIE would diligently implement all instructions and requirements put forward during this research mission, further optimize its research project layout, make every effort to achieve breakthroughs in key core technologies, promote the industrialization of more research results, drive high-quality enterprise development with high-level scientific and technological innovation, and contribute greater scientific and technological support to serving national strategies, to the transformation and upgrading of SINOMACH’s engineering sector, and to the higher-quality development of CMEC Group.

The meeting was held at the CMIE Power Conversion and Measurement Control Technology Achievement Transformation Pilot Base, certified by the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province. Prior to the meeting, Academician Xu Jian and his delegation visited and provided guidance on the construction of the large-scale offshore wind power transmission chain test scale-down rig device and the battery wet recycling experiment.

Liu Wu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CMIE; Wang Jin and Wang Wei, Deputy General Managers of CMIE; other leaders and experts; relevant members of the project teams; and responsible representatives from the Technology Development Departments of SINOMACH, CMEC Group, and CAMCE attended the meeting.
