Delegation from Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hunan Province Visits CMEC Group
On March 11, Wang Bo, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), and Chen Fan, Deputy General Manager, met at CMEC Group’s headquarters (China Machinery Engineering Corporation, or CMEC) with a delegation led by Wu Yong, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hunan Province. The visiting delegation also included Jiang Lin, Director of the Department’s Science, Technology and Design Division; Huang Jie, Level II Division Rank Official; Liu Xiangyu, Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial Technology Center for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Construction; and Liu Milin, Vice President of the Hunan Province Exploration & Design Association. The two sides held pragmatic and productive discussions on cooperation related to the 2026 Changsha International Green Intelligent Construction and Building Industrialization Expo (ICBIE 2026) and on synergies between central state-owned enterprises and local firms in “going global” initiatives.

Wang Bo extended a warm welcome to Deputy Director Wu Yong and his delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude for the consistent support and assistance provided by the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hunan Province to CMEC Group’s enterprises operating in Hunan Province.


During the meeting, Chen Fan gave a detailed overview of CMEC Group’s domestic and international business development, its technical strengths in survey, design, and engineering consultancy, as well as its specialized equipment manufacturing capabilities. He also engaged in in-depth discussions on CMEC Group’s active participation in ICBIE 2026 and potential overseas project collaborations with Hunan-based construction and equipment manufacturing enterprises.
Deputy Director Wu Yong, speaking on behalf of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hunan Province, highly commended CMEC Group—particularly its subsidiary CMIE (formerly the 8th Design & Research Institute of the former Ministry of Machine Industry)—for its significant contributions to Hunan’s economic development over many years. He also conveyed heartfelt appreciation for the Group’s trust and support. Wu Yong provided a comprehensive briefing on the implementation plan and current progress of preparations for ICBIE 2026, and extended a cordial invitation to CMEC Group and its member enterprises to participate in the expo in Changsha. He encouraged the Group to showcase the latest innovations of central enterprises in green and intelligent construction—including new technologies, advanced equipment, novel application scenarios, and cutting-edge implementations—highlighting how technological empowerment drives intelligent construction and innovation enhances quality of life.

The meeting was also attended by relevant officials from CMEC Group’s Department of Science & Technology Development and Operations Management Division.
