On January 16, Fang Yanshui, General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met at CMEC Group Headquarters (China Machinery Engineering Corporation, or CMEC) with a delegation led by Mr. Harman Faiz, Managing Director of UEM Lestra, along with representatives from Hexa Renewables and ITRAMAS. The two sides held pragmatic and productive discussions on renewable energy projects in Malaysia.

Fang Yanshui extended a warm welcome to Mr. Harman Faiz and the delegation, and commended the significant progress achieved in the project since their initial meeting in 2024. He noted that, as a flagship project under Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), its successful implementation holds great significance for the development of Malaysia’s green power market. During the talks, both parties exchanged in-depth views on critical aspects currently facing the project, including technical deepening and cost control. UEM Lestra and its partners expressed their willingness to maintain close communication with CMEC and jointly accelerate project advancement while optimizing collaboration processes.

Both sides agreed that the meeting has further strengthened mutual trust and clarified the path forward for cooperation. They expressed their shared aspiration to establish long-term strategic partnerships with UEM, Hexa Renewables, and ITRAMAS—starting from this project—and to expand collaboration in renewable energy and infrastructure sectors across Malaysia and beyond.

Senior representatives from CMEC’s 5th and 8th Complete Plant Departments, New Energy Department, and China Machinery Engineering Wuxi Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.
