On December 5, Fang Yanshui, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met at the company’s headquarters with a delegation led by Serge Boda, Minister of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts of Burkina Faso.

The two sides reviewed the cooperation journey since the Minister’s first visit in July this year. Mr. Fang noted that within just five months, both parties had efficiently advanced their coordination efforts, achieving substantial and tangible progress—a clear demonstration of their shared commitment and pragmatic approach.

Regarding the key cooperative projects under active discussion, Mr. Fang expressed his hope that both sides would further consolidate mutual understanding and, taking this delegation’s visit to China as a pivotal opportunity, accelerate the transformation of visit outcomes into concrete implementation, with the aim of officially launching the project at the earliest possible date. While focusing on core initiatives, he suggested gradually expanding practical collaboration into multiple sectors based on their established cooperation model, thereby supporting Burkina Faso’s infrastructure development and industrial upgrading, and jointly building a flagship project of China-Burkina Faso practical cooperation.

Minister Boda extended sincere gratitude to CMEC Group for its warm hospitality and professional arrangements. He emphasized that this cooperation constitutes a major project under Burkina Faso’s national industrial development strategy and has received high-level attention from the Burkina Faso government. The Minister expressed great satisfaction with the outcomes of this visit and fully acknowledged CMEC Group’s demonstrated technical expertise, extensive project management experience, and proactive cooperative attitude. He clearly stated his full commitment to expediting the domestic approval process in Burkina Faso and looked forward to working hand-in-hand with CMEC Group to accelerate project commencement, so that the benefits of this partnership can reach the people of Burkina Faso as soon as possible.

Ambassador Daouda Bitié of Burkina Faso to China accompanied the delegation. Also attending the meeting were Qian Xuegang, Assistant to the General Manager of CMEC Group, and representatives from the Operations Management Department and the Eighth Complete Plant Department.
