To further empower its subsidiaries and deepen business collaboration, Tian Zheng, Member of the Party Committee and Chief Financial Officer of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), recently led a delegation from China Ocean Engineering Construction Corporation Limited (COECG)—a subsidiary of CMEC Group—headed by Li Yiping, Party Secretary and Chairman of COECG, to visit Sumec Marine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Sumec Marine”). He Jun, Chairman of Sumec Marine, extended a warm welcome. The three parties held in-depth discussions on reviewing existing cooperation outcomes, exploring new areas of collaboration, and assessing industry development trends—laying a solid foundation for future partnership enhancement.

Tian Zheng highly commended the successful cooperation between Sumec Marine and COECG. He emphasized that deepening internal synergy has become a strategic consensus across SINOMACH and is a critical enabler for responding to industry dynamics and implementing group-level strategies. He expressed hope that both sides would further align their development objectives, establish more efficient and regularized communication mechanisms, ensure steady progress of joint projects, and jointly open a new chapter in collaborative growth.
He Jun provided a comprehensive overview of Sumec Marine’s development journey, core business portfolio, and recent strategic initiatives. He highlighted the company’s practical experience and phased achievements in cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and operational turnaround. Noting the strong cooperative foundation already established with COECG—particularly in the New Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. No. 2 Slipway Project, where COECG’s marine engineering team demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and professional execution—he expressed confidence that this exchange would serve as a catalyst to broaden collaboration dimensions and achieve higher-quality, win-win outcomes.
Li Yiping outlined COECG’s development trajectory and distinctive strengths in specialized engineering services, expressing gratitude for Sumec Marine’s collaborative support. He stressed that COECG will fully leverage its project teams’ professional capabilities to ensure efficient execution and high-quality service delivery, thereby guaranteeing the successful implementation of synergy-driven projects and striving to set a benchmark for internal collaboration within the SINOMACH system. He proposed that both parties further integrate their complementary resources to jointly explore cooperation potential in areas such as slipway and transfer system upgrades, harbor basin and channel dredging, and industrial facility construction—extending collaboration to deeper levels and broader domains.
Representatives from CMEC Group’s Finance Management Department, Sumec Marine, COECG, and the Yangtze River Delta Regional Center also attended the meeting.
