On November 21, Fang Yanshui, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met with a delegation led by Liu Xing, Chairman of Sinochem Environment Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Sinochem Holdings”), at CMEC Group’s headquarters.

Fang Yanshui extended a warm welcome to Chairman Liu Xing and his team, and recalled the solid foundation of cooperation between CMEC Group and Sinochem Holdings in seawater desalination projects. He noted that since the two parties signed their cooperation framework agreement, collaboration has continued to deepen: in May this year, a CMEC team visited Sinochem Holdings for alignment discussions, followed by concrete cooperation on several key projects—including the Oman DOW Seawater Desalination Project, the Tangier Seawater Desalination Project in Morocco, and the 15,000 m³/day Cape Verde Seawater Desalination Project—yielding positive progress. Fang emphasized that CMEC Group is committed to further strengthening this partnership, leveraging each side’s strengths to jointly advance the implementation of more high-quality projects and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Liu Xing expressed his gratitude to CMEC Group for its longstanding trust and support of Sinochem Holdings, and highly commended the cooperative achievements between the two parties in areas such as seawater desalination, integrated utilization of concentrated brine, and phosphate mining development. He stated that Sinochem Holdings will continue to leverage its professional expertise in seawater desalination engineering to deepen strategic synergy with CMEC Group, focus on Belt and Road markets, advance more green and low-carbon projects, further expand overseas operations, and jointly drive higher-quality development for both companies.

Representatives from CMEC Group’s 2nd, 5th, and 7th Complete Plant Departments, the Water Technology Center, and relevant departments of China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC) attended the meeting.
