Serbian Authorities Jointly Bestow Honors: CMEC Group’s Power Plant Project Receives International Recognition
At the formal invitation of Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) and the Symposium Organizing Committee Chair, on November 4, 2025, the Kostolac-B Phase II Project team from China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC)—headquarters of CMEC Group—attended the International Symposium on Power Electronics Ee 2025 in Belgrade. As a premier power industry event in Central and Eastern Europe, this year’s symposium focused on energy transition and green power development, bringing together senior representatives from government energy agencies, leading energy enterprises, and research institutions across multiple countries to discuss cutting-edge issues shaping the sector’s future.
During the conference, a dedicated technical forum was held specifically for Unit B3 of the Kostolac-B Phase II Power Plant. Representatives from Serbia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), Nikola Tesla Institute, and Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences delivered presentations on key aspects including main equipment performance, environmental emission metrics, and operational stability. All speakers unanimously praised Unit B3 for its significant role in advancing Serbia’s energy mix optimization and green development goals.
Honored for Excellence
In recognition of CMEC’s outstanding contributions to Serbia’s energy infrastructure and its sustained role in deepening China-Serbia energy cooperation, the Organizing Committee presented CMEC with an Honorary Certificate during the summit.

This accolade follows another major honor earlier this year: in June 2025, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić personally awarded the Order of Vidovdan to Lazo Lazić, Project Manager of the EPS Kostolac Power Plant Phase II Project. Together, these recognitions not only reflect the Serbian side’s high regard for CMEC’s project execution excellence but also stand as a vivid testament to the mutual trust and strategic partnership between China and Serbia in the energy sector.
