On August 11, Mr. Wang Bo, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met with Mr. Ji Xuecheng, Chairman of Machinery Industry Planning Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”) at the CMEC Group headquarters in Beijing. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as strategic alignment, collaborative innovation, and high-quality development.

Mr. Ji expressed his appreciation to Chairman Wang Bo for the warm reception and extended his gratitude for CMEC Group’s long-standing support for the Institute. He gave an overview of the Institute’s professional capabilities and representative achievements in areas including industrial planning, policy research, engineering consulting, and intelligent manufacturing solution design, structured around its “three development stages” and “three core business directions.”

Ji emphasized that, as a well-established think tank in the machinery industry, the Institute has accumulated extensive experience in serving national industrial strategies and guiding industry transformation and upgrading. He noted that CMEC Group and its subsidiaries possess world-class capabilities in consulting, design, and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contracting, with a high level of internationalization. Particularly in the construction of large-scale industrial projects, CMEC Group has demonstrated significant competitive advantages and delivers integrated “one-stop” services across the entire industry chain. Given the broad space for collaboration between the two parties, he expressed hope that the visit would serve as a catalyst for deepening cooperation in areas such as early-stage planning and consulting, joint efforts on major projects, and co-development of industry standards—thus enabling and supporting SINOMACH’s development in a comprehensive manner.

On behalf of CMEC Group, Chairman Wang Bo extended a warm welcome to Chairman Ji and his delegation. He gave a detailed presentation on the Group’s achievements in domestic and international EPC contracting, investment and operations, and the development of strategic emerging industries. He also elaborated on CMEC’s contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative, its practices and plans for promoting green and low-carbon transformation, and the key outcomes achieved since the Group’s transition to a more integrated and entity-based operation model—such as reversing the losses of China National Automation Control System Corp. (CACS), leading the overall restructuring of China Ocean Aviation Group, and promoting deeper internal collaboration among member enterprises.

Wang stated that the Machinery Industry Planning Institute, as an authoritative consulting institution in the sector, is committed to advancing the high-quality development of China’s machinery industry. With this mission in mind, the Institute has built itself into a key think tank platform for both SINOMACH and the broader machinery industry. It adheres to the principles of “serving the nation, serving the industry, and serving the Group,” while remaining firmly rooted in the machinery sector. CMEC Group, he said, stands ready to join hands with the Institute to jointly promote strategic synergy, value synergy, and innovation synergy. The two sides will deepen cooperation in areas such as strategy formulation, industrial planning, collaborative innovation, and business development. Together, they aim to better support China’s new-type industrialization as well as overseas industrial development. By leveraging their complementary strengths, both parties will contribute to the high-quality growth of SINOMACH.

During the visit, Chairman Ji and his delegation, accompanied by Chairman Wang Bo, toured the CMEC Group exhibition hall.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Xie Ke and Mr. Chen Jun, Party Committee Members and Vice General Managers of CMEC Group; Mr. Qin Longjie, General Manager of the Machinery Industry Planning Institute; as well as other senior executives and department heads from both sides.
