Wang Bo Leads Series of Business Activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan

From June 9 to 15, Wang Bo, Chairman of CMEC Group and CAMCE, visited the Republic of Uzbekistan at the invitation of the Uzbek government to attend the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum. He also took part in a meeting between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and representatives of Chinese enterprises operating in the country. During his visit, Mr. Wang held separate meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and several Uzbek government ministers. He conducted in-depth exchanges on practical cooperation between CMEC Group, CAMCE, and various Uzbek stakeholders, and signed memoranda of understanding with relevant government departments.

Wang Bo Attends the Tashkent International Investment Forum and Meets with President Mirziyoyev

At the invitation of the Uzbek government, Mr. Wang attended the opening ceremony of the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum and the 3rd General Assembly of the Foreign Investors Council. He was subsequently invited to a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who received representatives of Chinese enterprises.

On behalf of CMEC Group and CAMCE, Mr. Wang expressed his heartfelt thanks to President Mirziyoyev for his time and for the strong support extended to the companies’ operations in Uzbekistan. He congratulated the Uzbek government on the successful convening of the Forum and noted that the rapid pace of reform and development in Uzbekistan in recent years has significantly improved the business environment and created favorable conditions for China-Uzbekistan economic cooperation.

Mr. Wang briefed the President on the construction progress of the Olympic City Project, which is approaching completion after two years of work. He emphasized that the project has benefited greatly from President Mirziyoyev’s personal attention and the trust and support of all levels of the Uzbek government.

He further stated that CMEC Group and CAMCE will fully leverage their comprehensive capabilities in delivering large-scale international engineering projects, and are committed to providing the Uzbek side with one-stop services across the full industrial chain—from investment to engineering and construction. The companies aim to set a new benchmark for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, contribute to the implementation of the “New Uzbekistan” development strategy, advance industrialization, and improve people’s livelihoods—thus making new contributions to the deepening of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan in the new era.

President Mirziyoyev spoke highly of the companies’ outstanding performance and major contributions to the Olympic City Project. He noted that the project stands as a landmark outcome of Belt and Road cooperation and will serve as a model of pragmatic engagement between the two countries. The President emphasized the importance of the project for the China-Uzbekistan all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, and pledged continued attention and strong support for the companies’ active participation in Uzbekistan’s modernization. He expressed hope that the companies would deepen their strategic business presence in the country and work together to elevate bilateral trade and economic cooperation to a new level.

During his visit, Mr. Wang Bo met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev; Minister of Housing and Communal Services Hidoyatov; Minister of Energy Mirzamahmudov; Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Abdukhakimov; Minister of Digital Technologies Shermatov; and Deputy Minister of Construction and Head of the Tashkent New City Administration Adilov.

Mr. Wang expressed his appreciation to the Uzbek government agencies for their longstanding trust and strong support. He noted that CMEC Group will fully leverage its integrated strengths in consulting, engineering, construction, and investment & financing services to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in key sectors such as green energy, digital technologies, industrial modernization, and infrastructure development. The Group aims to contribute actively to the implementation of the Uzbekistan Vision 2030, promote deeper economic ties between China and Uzbekistan, and improve the well-being of the peoples of both countries.

Other Activities

During his stay in Uzbekistan, Mr. Wang also visited Bukhara Region, where he held discussions with Governor Botir Zakirov and Deputy Governor Zafar Aralov. The two sides exchanged views on advancing cooperation in urban infrastructure development.

Mr. Wang also visited the sites of the Tashkent Aerial Cableway Project and an industrial park infrastructure project in the Tashkent region. He held talks with Shavkat Umurzakov, Mayor of Tashkent, on cooperation in infrastructure investment and construction, during which the two sides signed a framework agreement on cooperation.

Liu Shengcheng, Vice President of CAMCE, along with heads of relevant business divisions and project teams, participated in the above activities.
