On May 8, SINOMACH’s outside directors including Wu Weizhang, Sha Xianhua, Zhang Xi, Lu Weiping and Xu Gaofeng visited the headquarters of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC) for investigation and guidance. SINOMACH’s board secretary Sun Miao and other personnel accompanied them to conduct the investigation.

Wang Bo, Party secretary and chairman of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), reported on the overview of CMEC Group’s operation and management, the implementation effectiveness of the 14th five-year plan and the progress of entity realisation. He analysed the opportunities and challenges presented by changes in the internal and external environments of the current operation and development, as well as the ideas and moves to advance the high-quality and resilient development. Fang Yanshui, deputy Party secretary and general manager of CMEC Group, reported on CMEC Group’s business expansion and transformation & upgrading.

The outside directors fully recognised the outstanding contribution of CMEC Group, SINOMACH’s main platform for international operation. CMEC Group has engaged in the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and empowered SINOMACH’s equipment manufacturing to go global. They also expressed their appreciation for CMEC Group’s new direction as a sci-tech engineering company, as well as the results in all areas of its work since it has developed into an entity.

For the next-step reform and development of CMEC Group, SINOMACH’s outside directors also put forward five requirements as follows.

First, it is essential to map out the strategic blueprint of the 15th five-year plan in a sound and systematic manner and foster a new advantage in international operation under the new situation;

Second, it is important to further cultivate differentiated competitiveness and enhance core competitive edges in domestic and overseas markets;

Third, CMEC Group needs to address more challenges of transformation and upgrading, extend the EPC business chain and industrial chain and develop new quality productive forces;

Fourth, CMEC Group needs to take the opportunity for new achievements to further deepen the reform, foster a stronger management team and fully stimulate the internal vitality;

Fifth, CMEC Group needs to highlight and strengthen the functional value of SINOMACH’s equipment manufacturing in its international operation, and help SINOMACH emerge as a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness.

During the investigation, SINOMACH’s outside directors also visited CMEC Group’s exhibition hall and gained a detailed understanding of the Group’s history, business overview and impressive track records.

Members of CMEC’s leadership team and heads of relevant departments also participated in the investigation.
