Wang Bo Visits Angola’s Secretary of State for Energy Arlindo Carlos

On April 16, Wang Bo, chairman of CMEC and China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), paid a visit to Angola’s Secretary of State for Energy Arlindo Carlos at the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on project cooperation in energy sectors such as power transmission & transformation, new energy and power station operation & maintenance, as well as water supply and water conservancy.

During the talks, Mr. Wang Bo conveyed to the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water SINOMACH Chairman Zhang Xiaolun’s greetings. He reviewed the progress of close senior-level contacts and practical cooperation between SINOMACH and CMEC Group as well as the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water over recent years and detailed about the capabilities of more three-dimensional engineering services throughout the entire industrial chain that have been developed since the establishment of CMEC Group. Wang said Angola’s Ministry of Energy and Water is an important partner of CMEC Group’s engagement in the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Group would implement the spirit of the ten partnership actions proposed at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit and join hands with the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water to advance Angola’s industrialisation and socio-economic development.

Mr. Carlos welcomed Chairman Wang Bo and spoke highly of the long-term cooperation between CMEC Group and the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water and its results. Carlos said the two sides are permanent strategic partners thanks to their strong foundation of mutual trust. Their win-win partnership represents a model of cooperation between China and Angola. The Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water was willing to cooperate more extensively with CMEC Group in energy and water conservancy to explore new models of green development and make new contributions to the development of Angola’s energy and water conservancy.

At the meeting, both sides also had in-depth exchanges on Angola’s energy development planning, regional energy cooperation in Africa and cooperation projects.

Also attending the meeting were heads of the relevant departments and bureaus of the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water and chief of CMEC’s 8th Complete Plants Division.
