CAE Academician and SINOMACH Chief Scientist Xu Jian Leads Team to Conduct Research at CMEC Group Member Enterprises

Recently, Xu Jian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Chief Scientist of SINOMACH, led a team to conduct research and provide guidance at CMEC Group’s member enterprises, including SINOCONST, SIPPR, CMCU, and CUCED. The visit aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the enterprises’ reform and development, as well as their progress in technological innovation. Accompanying the visit were Chen Fan, Deputy General Manager of CMEC Group; Xue Jilin, Director of the Science and Technology Management Department of SINOMACH’s Science and Technology Development Division; Sun Wei, Director of the Science and Technology Development Department of CMEC Group; and other relevant personnel.

At SINOCONST, Academician Xu Jian gained detailed insights into the company’s specialized advantages in areas such as the installation of complex and unconventional steel structures, new energy construction and upgrading, and intelligent manufacturing of industrial equipment. He affirmed SINOCONST’s engineering capabilities as SINOMACH’s only construction enterprise with a top-tier qualification, emphasizing the need to further strengthen research on industrial engineering technologies, enhance EPC capabilities, and build core competitiveness.

At SIPPR, Academician Xu Jian listened to reports on the company’s institutional mechanisms in technological innovation, the construction of technology research institutes, talent team building, and the application of scientific research achievements. He acknowledged SIPPR’s leadership in green and intelligent technology research within the industry, stressing the importance of continuing to advance key technologies in engineering design consulting and construction, such as intelligent manufacturing, green and low-carbon solutions, modern logistics, and smart hospitals. He also highlighted the need to strengthen collaborative research efforts and improve the quality and application of technological innovation outcomes.

At CMCU, Academician Xu Jian learned about the company’s research in renewable energy technologies, artificial intelligence and intelligent design, intelligent equipment and advanced manufacturing, and green buildings and smart cities. He commended CMCU’s achievements in transformation and upgrading as well as scientific research outcomes, and provided guidance on focusing on key R&D areas, enhancing industry influence, fostering innovation in research topics, improving internal collaboration, and cultivating scientific research talent.

At CUCED, Academician Xu Jian carefully listened to reports on the company’s research directions, progress, and needs in fields such as instrumentation and healthcare. He expressed appreciation for CUCED’s reform and development as well as its scientific research efforts, emphasizing that the company was founded with the mission of instrumentation design. He urged CUCED to align with market demands, explore new application scenarios, identify opportunities that match emerging needs, and build new advantages in instrumentation to foster new growth drivers for the company.

The above enterprises expressed their commitment to leveraging the critical juncture of concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan and planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan to strengthen new capabilities, cultivate differentiated competitive advantages, and fully drive the high-quality and resilient development of CMEC Group, contributing to new achievements in SINOMACH’s engineering business sector.
