Fang Yanshui Visits Sinopec Overseas Investment Holding Limited
On November 27, Mr. Fang Yanshui, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of CMEC Group, visited Sinopec Overseas Investment Holding Limited (SOIH) for talks with Mr. Zou Wenzhi, General Manager of SOIH, and Mr. Zhao Tiezhu, Deputy General Manager. The parties held in-depth discussions about the Hambantota Refinery Project in Sri Lanka and its supporting facilities, including the water plant and captive power station, while also exploring future cooperation opportunities.
Mr. Fang first introduced CMEC Group's 20-plus years of development in the Sri Lankan market, particularly highlighting its rich experience in the power and water sectors. He noted that the Group has become a key player in Sri Lanka's energy and water industries through two landmark projects - the Puttalam Power Plant Project and the Attanagalla Water Treatment Plant Project. With its technical excellence and strong understanding of local policies, CMEC Group is confident in working with SOIH to steadily advance the Sri Lankan refinery project.
Mr. Zou warmly welcomed Mr. Fang and his delegation, expressing high recognition of CMEC Group's achievements in the Sri Lankan market. He stated that SOIH is willing to join forces with CMEC Group to promote the refinery and its supporting projects, and looks forward to their future cooperation.
Deputy General Manager Zhao Tiezhu emphasized that the Hambantota Refinery Project is a crucial part of SOIH's overseas strategic layout, and the construction of its supporting water plant and captive power station is vital to the project's overall implementation.
Both parties agreed to further deepen cooperation, using the Sri Lankan project as an opportunity to jointly explore broader market opportunities and promote the implementation of BRI energy and infrastructure projects, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions about the cooperation details of the Hambantota Refinery Project, establishing preliminary cooperation directions and laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.
The meeting was also attended by heads of relevant departments from SOIH, and representatives from CMEC's Second Complete Plant Division and Investment & Asset Operation Division.
