On November 14, Fang Yanshui, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of CMEC Group, met with a delegation led by Zhang Chao, Party Committee Member, Chief Engineer, and Chief Information Officer of CNOOC Gas & Power Group Co., Ltd. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the construction of overseas gas-fired power plants, LNG supply, operational services, and project investment.

Fang Yanshui welcomed Chief Engineer Zhang Chao and his delegation. He noted that teams at multiple levels from both companies have already conducted several experience-sharing seminars, fostering mutual trust and a clear willingness to collaborate, and that CMEC Group is willing to leverage its early-mover advantages in overseas business, along with its extensive network, numerous global locations, and rich international engineering experience. By combining these strengths with CNOOC Gas & Power Group’s technological leadership, industry-leading position, and abundant natural gas reserves and investment capabilities, the two parties can fully utilize their complementary resources to deepen cooperation and jointly promote business development both domestically and internationally, Fang said.

Chief Engineer Zhang Chao expressed his gratitude for Fang’s warm reception and provided a detailed introduction to CNOOC Gas & Power Group’s leading position and engineering capabilities in the entire natural gas value chain, including engineering technology, resource supply, operational services, and industrial investment. He expressed hope that both parties would work together closely in the construction of gas-fired power plants, LNG receiving stations, and photovoltaic power generation projects. Subsequently, the two sides had in-depth discussions on potential cooperative projects.

Accompanying Zhang Chao were responsible officials from relevant departments of CNOOC Gas & Power Group, while heads of relevant departments from CMEC Group also attended the meeting.
