CMEC Group Signs Memorandum of Understanding for Renewable Energy Industrial Park Project with Malaysia's UEM Sunrise and Itramas
On May 15, Fang Yanshui, General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met with Datuk Amran Hafiz Bin Affifudin, Executive Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and his delegation. The parties had in-depth discussions about the development of a renewable energy industrial park project in Johor, Malaysia, and jointly witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UEM Sunrise, CMEC Group, and Itramas for the project.
Fang Yanshui welcomed the delegation and accompanied them on a tour of the company's business exhibition hall, where he highlighted CMEC Group's global business layout and engineering achievements, with a particular focus on their operations in Malaysia over the years. He emphasized CMEC Group's extensive experience in the development, construction, and operation of industrial parks and expressed the hope that this cooperation would serve as a starting point for establishing a long-term communication mechanism. He also encouraged the parties to explore potential collaborations in areas such as power, transportation, and environmental protection.
Datuk Amran Hafiz Bin Affifudin expressed gratitude for Fang's warm reception and praised CMEC Group's professional capabilities and market experience, especially in industrial park development, which aligns well with Malaysia's needs. The delegation provided a detailed introduction to Khazanah, UEM Group, and the planning for the new energy industrial park. This project is a flagship initiative under Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap, aiming to attract participants from China's new energy, machinery manufacturing, and semiconductor value chains.
After the discussions, Fang Yanshui and Datuk Amran Hafiz Bin Affifudin, along with other representatives, witnessed the signing of the MoU for the project.
Li Mingqiang, Assistant General Manager of CMEC Group, attended the meeting and signed the MoU on behalf of the company. Relevant department heads and subsidiary leaders from CMEC Group also participated in the activities.
