Luo Qianyi Inspects Serbian Power Station Project

In April 9-11, Sinomach’s Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager Luo Qianyi visited Serbia. During his stay in Serbia, he inspected the phase-II project of the KOSTOLAC-B power station undertaken by CMEC Group (hereinafter referred to as the “B power station project”), visited the Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Serbia Li Ming, Serbian Deputy Prime Miniter and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, and Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Đedović. Li Xiaoyu, member of the standing committee of the CPC Sinomach Committee and Deputy General Manager of Sinomach, also participated in the activities. 
Luo conducted an on-site investigation at the site of the B power station project, listened to the work reports, made in-depth discussions with the project team to analyze the problems and challenges of the project and work out countermeasures. On behalf of Sinomach, he recognized the efforts of the project team and deployed the finishing tasks of the project to ensure smooth delivery. He required to raise political awareness, forge ahead to deepen high-quality development of the BRI for tangible outcomes, boost morale, work harder to advance the project as planned, ensure completion and delivery of the project in all areas of the work at a high level and according to high quality requirements, attach great importance to onsite safety management, see that relevant parties fulfill their responsibilities and ensure safe and reliable operation of the units. 
At the meeting with Li, Luo introduced the history of Sinomach, participation in the BRI and the implementation of the B power station project, and thanked the embassy for its guidance and support for Sinomach. He said that Sinomach will continue to create high-quality projects, add building blocks to the friendship between the two countries, benefit the Serbian people and assume its responsibilities as a central government enterprise. 
Li recognized Sinomach for its good-faith business operations and adherence to the spirit of contract. He said that the B power station project is an important power station project between China and Serbia under the framework of BRI cooperation and the embassy will continue to give strong support to it.
At the meetings with Sinisa Mali and Dubravka Đedović, Luo said that the B power station project has overcome the huge impacts of various factors such as the Covid-19, achieved its first grid connection and full-load power generation, and entered the closing stage. Sinomach attaches great importance to the project, which is the first large-scale coal-fired unit built in Serbia over the past 30 years, has input a large amount of resources to ensure its completion, and is accelerating its delivery. He hoped that the two sides further strengthen cooperation and achieve win-win results.
Sinisa Mali welcomed the delegation and said that the Serbian side has been paying high attention to the project. He said that two sides upheld the principle of friendly consultation, jointly established relevant working mechanisms, pledging that the presidential office and relevant ministries and commissions will continue to provide supports to advance the completion of the closing work, achieve handover and grid connection of the project as early as possible and make more contributions to the economic and social development of Serbia. 
Also present at the meeting were Wang Bo, Sinomach Assistant General Manager and CMEC Group Party Secretary and Chairman Wang Bo, Tong Zigang, Member of CPC CMEC Group Committee and Deputy General Manager, as well as relevant responsible persons of Sinomach’s Operation Management Department and CMEC Group, etc.
