Iraqi Salah Al-Din 2X630MW Oil-fired/Gas-fired Power Station No.1 Unit succeeded in light oil ignition at 18:21 on May 7, 2021 (local time) and mixed oil switching on 19:00 on May 7, 2021, indicating its official launching.

To meet the schedule, all employees of the project office united and strived to overcome adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, striking a balance between pandemic prevention and production. Despite that some suppliers cannot provide onsite services due to the pandemic, the employees of the project office gave full play to the spirit of self-sufficiency through hard work, worked to tackle a number of technical problems, and completed the launch of the No.1 unit and the construction of the No.2 unit as scheduled.

To deal with the round-off work and the defects of the No.1 unit, the project office clearly specified the responsibilities and implemented the timing plan, creating conditions for performance test and summer peak continuous operation of the unit.
