On the afternoon of April 25, CNEC deputy general manager Tong Zigang met with Gafar Ahmed, Ambassador of Sudan to China, at the company’s head office.

On behalf of the company, Tong Zigang welcomed Ambassador Ahmed’s visit and briefed him about the history of CMEC and the development of its overseas projects in recent years. Tong exchanged views with Ahmed on CMEC’s projects in Sudan, expressing the hope to strengthen cooperation with the new Sudanese government in various fields.

The ambassador thanked CMEC for its warm reception, and said that the embassy hopes to strengthen communication and cooperation with CMEC to jointly promote the implementation of relevant projects and contribute to the economic development of the Republic of Sudan and the friendship between the two countries.

After the talks, Tong and Ahmed jointly held a teleconference with the Sudanese Minister of Communications. They exchanged in-depth views on future cooperation between the two sides.

Also present at the talks were Wang Pengfei, deputy general manager of the 3rd Complete Plants Division, and heads of relevant projects.
