After the outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the frontline employees of the Angola Company (Southern and Western African Agricultural Regional Center) of China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC), a subsidiary of CMEC, paid great attention to the epidemic of China. They were anxious about the daily epidemic reports, encouraged by good news about “medical teams” supporting Wuhan, moved by the heroic deeds of those who are fighting against the epidemic, and believed that we will tide over the difficulties as long as we unite as one.

CCEC Angola Company, in strict accordance with the instructions and requirements of the Chinese Embassy in Angola and CMEC, took the following necessary measures immediately for epidemic prevention and control:

Cancel or change the air tickets for those who plan to go to or return from China; require all those employees who returned to Angola after January 16 to quarantine themselves for 14 days, and report relevant information to the embassy and CMEC; ask the employees to not go out or minimize the time of staying outside, adopt a strict system of access control; pay close attention to the physical conditions of all employees at the project site, and provide them with medical supplies such as medicine, masks, and disinfectant, etc.

As the epidemic spreads, Angola also suffered from shortage of medical masks. After extensive enquiries and long-time waiting, CCEC Angola Company has managed to purchase medical masks. After purchasing the first batch of masks, it contacted immediately with other CMEC branches in Angola, and asked whether they have prepared masks and disinfection materials and expressed its hope to work together with them to tide over the difficulties.

Due to the limited production capacity of medical and protective supplies of Angola and its neighboring countries, it is trying every means to seek for more medical resources to make contributions to epidemic prevention and control. Union is strength in the face of the epidemic. The CMEC employees in Angola would like to cling together with their compatriots and weather the hard times so as to win the battle against the epidemic as soon as possible.
