On January 23, SINOMACH issued the Emergency Notice on Reminding SINOMACH Subsidiaries in Wuhan to Effectively Prevent and Control the 2019-nCoV Epidemic. CMEC issued the Emergency Notice on Effective Prevention and Control of the 2019-nCoV Epidemic on January 23, and the Emergency Notice on Strengthening Prevention and Control of the 2019-nCoV Epidemic for Domestic and Overseas Projects on January 26, respectively.

Upon the receipt of the above notices from the SASAC, SINOMACH and CMEC, CMEC Pakistani Jhang 1263MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project Office took actions immediately at the project site in accordance with the requirements on epidemic prevention and control, and prepared the Special Contingency Plan of the Jhang Project Office for Prevention and Control of the 2019-nCoV Epidemic (Trial) and the Information Sheet for Prevention and Control of the 2019-nCoV Epidemic.

The following concrete measures have been taken:

Body temperature monitoring at the construction area

All personnel at the project site must have their body temperature checked, and those whose body temperature are above 37.5℃ are not allowed to enter the project site.

Sub-contractors and suppliers are required to work via the Internet and telephone as far as possible and irrelevant personnel are strictly prohibited from entering the project site.

Epidemic prevention & control training for employees

Body temperature monitoring and mask distribution

Daily body temperature monitoring of employees

Masked employees at the construction area

We hold epidemic prevention & control training for all construction personnel at the project site, distribute masks to them and require everyone to wear a mask in public areas. All sub-contractors check body temperature of their employees every day and send those who have abnormal temperature immediately to the isolation area for observation.

Designated isolation area

All employees from China’s epidemic areas are required to be quarantined at the isolation area for 14 days and only those employees whose body temperature and physical examination results are normal are allowed to work after the 14 days of quarantine. So far, three Siemens employees and one employee of the project office who are from epidemic areas of China are quarantined at the quarantine area.

All meeting participants are required to wear a mask

Minimize the number of meetings at the site and require all participants to wear a mask at meetings.

Individual serving is adopted for reduction of contacts

Close the public dining room, and require all employees to wear a mask and serve them individually.

Clean and disinfect the living area timely and regularly.

Purchase enough masks, disinfectant, masks and protective suits for epidemic prevention and control.

We have prepared a contingency plan on maintenance and disinfection of ambulance, shift work schedule of drivers and doctors and contact with designated hospitals to ensure timely hospitalization and patients infected with the 2019-nCoV as well as screening and quarantine of contacts.

The above timely and effective measures taken stemmed the panic of the employees and ensured orderly operations at the project site. The project office will lead all its employees to win the battle against the epidemic.
