On September 6, a ceremony was held at Serbia Electric Power Company for signing the take-over certificate (TOC) for the coal mine expansion section of the second phase of Kostolac Power Station Project in Serbia, marking that the bucket wheel excavator (BWE) was officially handed over to the owner and entered the warrantee period. This part of work was completed three months ahead of schedule, and the certificate was the first TOC issued for the power station project.

The project’s construction period started on January 4, 2016; detailed design of the BWE was completed on May 31, 2017; its assembly was finished on March 21, 2019 and performance test began on July 25. In the full-load test phase, members of the CMEC project team monitored the test process in real time 24 hours a day. The BWE passed a 14-day reliability test and 72-hour full-load performance test on August 29, 2019, after which CMEC completely eliminated the minor defects according to the owner’s requirements. It only took one week to reach the conditions for TOC singing.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Li Xueqiang, chief representative of CMEC Serbia Representative Office, Jin Wei, deputy executive manager for the project’s coal mine expansion section, Matthias Faupel, project manager of ThyssenKrupp, and relevant personnel from China and Serbia.
