Han Xiaojun Inspects CMEC Projects in Bagdad

On September 2, CMEC General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary Han Xiaojun made an official visit to Iraqi Electricity Minister Luay Al-Khatteeb in Bagdad, Iraq.

Han, first of all, thanked Luay Al-Khatteeb for his long-term supports to CMEC. The minister welcomed the delegation of CMEC and spoke highly of the projects that CMEC had completed in Iraq. He said that he would instruct relevant personnel of Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity to complete the amendments to the supplementary agreement on the Saladin project and require them to work actively to make alignments, solve existing problems as soon as possible and complete the project as early as possible.

On the afternoon of the same day, Han went to the Chinese Embassy in Iraq and paid an official visit to Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iraq Zhang Tao and Economic & Commercial Counsellor Bian Changzheng. Han introduced the current development of CMEC and its business operations in the Iraqi market to Zhang and Bian, saying that CMEC is very optimistic about the development of Iraq and will fully explore the Iraqi market.

Zhang and Bian expressed their welcome to the delegation and spoke highly of the great achievements made by CMEC in the Iraqi market under the policy of “Belt and Road”. Zhang made valuable suggestions on CMEC’s long-term development in the Iraqi market in the future. The two sides made in-depth discussions on the topics of market potential and future development tendency, etc.

Han was accompanied by CMEC Vice General Manager Fan Rong, CMEC Assistant General Manager Wang Yili and Iraqi Representative Office Chief Representative Mao Wei, etc.
