Assistant to GM Zhang Zhiliang Attends Inauguration Ceremony of Mainland China—Hong Kong Belt and Road Business and Professional Services Council

On December 14, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong (CGCC) and China International Contractors Association (CICA) established the Mainland China—Hong Kong Belt and Road Business and Professional Services Council in Hong Kong. The inauguration ceremony was co-hosted by Ms. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr. Fu Ziying, International Trade Negotiator and Deputy Minister (minister-level) of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Xie Feng, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, Ms. Qiu Hong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., Mr. Chen Maobo, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Mr. Edward Yau Tang-wah, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. Assistant to General Manager Zhang Zhiliang, on behalf of CMEC, one of the founding council members in the Mainland, was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony and exchange luncheon. Mr. Zhang was accompanied by relevant leaders and colleagues of CMEC Hong Kong and China Everbest Development International Ltd., one of CMEC’s Hong Kong-based company.
  
Under the guidance and support of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Ministry of Commerce, the Mainland China—Hong Kong Belt and Road Business and Professional Services Council, co-initiated by CICA and CGCC, is composed of representatives of 20 Mainland-based enterprises and 20 Hong Kong-based companies as well as professional organizations. It aims to set up a platform for business exchanges and cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong. It is a concrete action for the enterprises in both places to respond positively to the Belt and Road Initiative and implement the relevant policies of the country in supporting the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initia
