CMEC Export Control Office Attends Seminar on Export Control in Austria

In late June, at the invitation of Saferworld, a world-renown organization for trade security and compliance, the Export Control Office of CMEC went to Austria's Vienna to attend the international conference themed with "ensuring more effective implementation of export control compliance" and "strengthening government outreach and industrial export control compliance", etc.

Organized by Saferworld, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Research Center of the Research Center of the State University of New York, the seminar provides a platform for its participants to made in-depth discussions on the government and enterprise export control practices. The Chinese side hoped that Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation takes a lead in providing theoretical and practical supports for the Chinese government to assist Chinese enterprises in doing well in trade compliance, so as to promote the export control compliance of Chinese enterprises. Also present at the seminar were experts and scholars from relevant institutions, international think tanks and enterprises of the United Union, the European Union, United States, China, Russia, Singapore, and South Korea, etc.
 
Liu Tong, Director of CMEC Export Control Office, on behalf of Chinese enterprises, made a speech at the seminar, introducing the integrated prevention & control system for enterprise export control and internal control compliance and its effective operation. The speech won high praises from relevant parties.
 
The participants, organized by host of the seminar, visited CTBOT and UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) at the United Nations Office at Vienna and exchanged views with experts of the United Nations on the issues related to nuclear nonproliferation and export control.
