At 11 o'clock on the morning of November 20, 2017, the commencement ceremony of Serbia KOSTOLAC-B Power Station Phase-II Project undertaken by CMEC was held at the project site. Serbian Prime Minister Brnabic, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Antic, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang, General Manager at Elektroprivreda Srbije, CMEC Vice President Tong Zigang and representatives of relevant government departments, cooperation units and Chinese enterprises in Serbia attended the event.
At the ceremony, Vice President Tong Zigang on behalf of CMEC delivered a speech. He thanked the governments and relevant agencies of both China and Serbia for their long-term support and assistance to CMEC and said that with the joint efforts of all parties, the Phase-II project would be a complete success. Prime Minister Brnabic expressed great expectations for the successful implementation of the Phase-II project and expressed her thanks to CMEC for its contribution to Serbia's energy development. Serbian local media covered the ceremony.
The Phase II project of KOSTOLAC-B power station is another power project undertaken by CMEC in Serbia after the Phase I project. The project owner is Elektroprivreda Srbije. The project includes two parts: the new 350MW generator set as well as ancillary systems, and the expanded open-pit coal mine, with a total contract value of 715,600,000 US dollars.
