On December 20, “2018 China Sustainable Competitiveness Excellence Enterprise” awarding ceremony was held in Beijing. CMEC won the “2018 International Sustainable Practice Excellence Award”. Other four enterprises including Power Construction Corporation of China are also winners of the award.

　　

2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up of China and the founding of CMEC. Over the past 40 years, CMEC has actively carried out the “Go Global” strategy, responded to the “Belt & Road” initiative, followed the principle of and took actions for being a responsible international operator, built a positive image of China and its corporate brand in the international market, and promoted sustainable economic, social and environmental development of the countries where it operates. The award is a full recognition from local interested parties of CMEC’s long-term commitments to sustainable operations in the international market.

　　

Jointly initiated by the CSR Committee of the Chinese Institute of Business Administration and Beijing Rongzhi Corporate Social Responsibility Institute, the award was released at the Annual Meeting of "China Sustainable Competitiveness Excellence Enterprise". The event involves 10 awards and consists of three phases of collection of corporate materials, preliminary evaluation of the organizing committee, and expert re-evaluation. It is a real third-party evaluation on the basis of the collection of cooperate materials and recommendations of industrial experts. Since 2013, the annual meeting has been held for five consecutive years, promoting exchanges amongst government departments, international organizations, industrial association, colleges, universities and research institutes. The award is a recognition of CMEC's sustainable operations in the international market, reflecting the CMEC's features of and progress in overseas sustainable operation practices, and setting an example for Chinese engineering contractors operating overseas.
