CMEC Wins the Employee Care Award of GoldenBee 2015 Excellent CSR Report

At the 8th International Conference on CSR Reporting in China held in Beijing on December 3, CMEC won the GoldenBee 2015 Excellent CSR Report --- Special Award for Employee Care, the second honor it has claimed following the First Social Responsibility Report Award.

The conference, co-organized by China WTO Tribune, China Business Council for Sustainable Development, Swedish Embassy in China and GIZ, gathered over 300 delegates from Chinese and foreign government agencies, enterprises, industry associations and research institutes to discuss the latest trend of and regulations on corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting.

Speakers invited to the conference included: Deputy Secretary General Zhai Qi of China Business Council for Sustainable Development, Deputy Director Hou Jie of the Research Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Deputy Counsel Guo Xiuming of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Counselor & Head of the CSR Center Ms. Maisoun Jabali of the Swedish Embassy in China, and Deputy Country Director of GIZ China Dr. Juergen Steiger.

At the conference, China WTO Tribune released the GoldenBee CSR Reporting Index (2015) and the GoldenBee 2015 Excellent CSR Report. Participants discussed the latest development trend of CSR reporting at home and abroad and other hot topics. It’s revealed that by October 31, 2015, a total of 2,265 CSR reports had been issued in China, with the overall quality steadily improving and the number of high-quality reports growing year on year. As China enters into the era of social responsibility management and the CSR development becomes a global trend, it’ll be inevitable to strengthen CSR information disclosure.

CMEC is awarded for “the report reveals CMEC’s responsible practice and achievements in protecting employees’ rights and interests, building a broad development platform for employees, concerning about the physical and mental health of employees, caring about the personal happiness of employees, and sharing its development fruits with employees. The report includes the case about the company’s responsive, helpful, sustained overseas security mechanism which successfully transferred 1,258 employees working for the oil/gas-fired power plant at Salah-aldeen, Iraq back to China in critical moments. It’s an excellent report fully showing how the company has fulfilled its responsibilities for employees.”
