On December 3, 2014, the 7th International Conference on China’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Reports was held at the Jingge Banquet Hall in Beijing’s Shangri-La Hotel. At the conference, CMEC 2013 CSR Report was granted Golden Bee 2014 Excellent CSR Report—First Report Award.

The conference was co-hosted by China WTO Tribune, China Business Council for Sustainable Development, Sino-German CSR Project, and Sweden's embassy in China. Present at the meeting were more than 300 persons from government organs, enterprises, business associations, research institutes, and news media at home and abroad. They explored the direction for the development of CSR reports by discussing the standards, trends, compilation, assessment, spreading and application of these reports, the disclosure of foreign-invested companies' CSR information in China, and other topics.

At the conference, the China WTO Tribune firstly issued the Golden Bee Indexes for China’s CSR Reports (2009-2014) (the Indexes), which is China’s first evaluation system based on the Golden Bee CSR reports. Much of the focus of the Indexes is about the courses of growth, features and trends that China's CSR reports have taken on from 2009 to 2014. Out of the 2,240 CSR reports, 53 winners stood out and were listed on the 2014 Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll.

CMEC’s first-issued report was one of these winners. Developed around six topics, i.e., value, quality, green development, safety, welfare and harmony, this report discloses in a systematic way the concepts and measures CMEC has proposed to fulfil duties to stakeholders and its performance in this regard as well as expounds the company’s pursuit of having CSR rooted in its genes and its promise of seeking for responsible development for the good of the globe. CMEC’s report featuring a concise structure, detailed contents, and simple language is an excellent CSR report easy to read and understand.
